Matt has been practicing Intellectual Property (IP) law for decades in both Ohio and Florida. Matt’s goal with clients is to help them create wealth and profit from their IP, protect product and service lines from competitors and create an IP portfolio that adds offensive and defensive value for the clients.
Matt has represented a wide range of major publicly traded corporations, mid-tier companies, small companies and individuals. He has prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent applications in the electrical, electromechanical and other related mechanical fields. Matt’s experience also includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the software, semiconductor, electrical and other related arts for NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio.
Matt’s extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, licensing agreements, protection of trade secrets and various business contracts involving IP, has helped him focus his practice on the thorough understanding of his client’s industry and needs to lend the best possible protection and service of each business venture.
Matt also has an active international practice and has been involved in the prosecution of patent and trademark applications outside the United States under the Patent Cooperation Treaty and the European Patent Convention through various foreign associates. He has also worked on issues involving the Department of Defense, the Federal Acquisition Regulations and the like.
During Matt’s free time, he enjoys golf, swimming, boating, music, fishing and spending time with his wife Susan, his two children and five grandchildren. Matt is also a professional musician and plays soft jazz, love songs and ballads. He plays regularly at assisted living communities for charity and at various locations professionally.
