Jeff Knapp is a Registered Patent Agent, licensed to prepare and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Jeff started out as a Patent Examiner, working over eight years for the USPTO, before becoming a Patent Agent. Since leaving the USPTO, he has spent the last 20-plus years working in both law firms and corporate environments, from start-ups to large companies. Jeff is a U.S. patent holder as well.

Jeff has had extensive experience in evaluating new technologies and articulating salient features. He has proven success promoting the innovation process through the counseling of both inventors and client businesses, managing patent portfolios and preparing and prosecuting patent applications. He has worked in a wide range of technology areas, spanning materials science, manufacturing, medical devices and general electrical and mechanical.

Outside the office, Jeff likes to spend time with his girlfriend and their dog. He is an avid sports fan, particularly of Ohio State, and enjoys traveling. Jeff’s travels have taken him to 46 states and to five different countries. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
